CM,
You have awesome vibrato on electric bass. I noticed this most recently on the track raju of the 5 Peace Band album. A lot of your licks feature some sweet vibrato/bending and I was wondering if you you could shed some light on how you do it. Do you just vibrate your hand like an upright bassist would or bend the string up and down a bit? I'm having a hard time getting my vibrato to be noticeable so hopefully you can give me some advice on technique.
Also, you mentioned in another post developing rock solid time. My feeling is that the best way to do this is to play with metronome/recordings a lot. Do you have other methods? I feel like I have pretty good time, but I'll often play with drummers who will speed up or slow down. Should I try to hold the tempo, say by playing in front or behind the beat as a suggestion, or just follow the drummer?
Thanks,
-EW
